John Estrada admits he and wife Priscilla Meirelles 'have mutually agreed to take a break for quite some time now'
John Estrada has issued a statement about his current status with wife Priscilla Meirelles.
On Instagram Stories Tuesday, the actor admitted that "Priscilla and I have mutually agreed to take a break for quite some time now."
While he said "there was more to the story," John decided to keep it private because "the last thing I want to do is hurt the people I love."
He also took the opportunity to clear the name of Lily Hallman, whom he only met in Boracay.
Priscilla earlier named in her cryptic comments on John's controversial Boracay post.
"I am not in a relationship with Lily Hallman or any other woman for that matter," John wrote. "I just met her in Boracay."
According to John, he flew to the island as because he "felt the need for a breather."
"This is a private family matter that's why I ask for privacy as we deal with this. Thank you," he ended his post.
His statement comes as he slammed "fake news" peddlers.
John and Priscilla are currently the talk of the town after the Miss Earth 2004 left a comment on John's Boracay post.
"Looking very divorced, Mr. Estrada @ Lily Hallman_," Priscilla commented. While John's comment section has already been turned off, netizens were also able to take screengrabs of the beauty queen's comment.
In a previous interview on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," Priscilla opened up on the state of her marriage with John and the issues they faced last year, saying "Of course we're married pa rin and we're laughing yesterday and we're having a great time. But I'm not gonna take anything that I already took up to this point," she said.
"So alam niya nasa limit na ko. So whatever happens from this point on it's on him. I've done my part," she added.
John and Priscilla got married in 2011. They have one daughter named Sammanta Anechka, who was born in 2012.
