Xian Lim writes appreciation post for Iris Lee as movie ‘Kuman Thong’ drops in cinemas

Xian Lim has nothing but appreciation for his girlfriend filmmaker Iris Lee.

On Instagram, the Kapuso actor shared some snaps of him and Iris, including a photo of the two of them inside an empty theater during the premiere night of their movie “Kuman Thong.”

Calling his girlfriend "talented, overly passionate human being," Xian said "Hardworking is an understatement when it comes to the effort you put in all your projects, may it be with me or all the great directors you have worked with."

“Our [movie] would not be the way it is now if it weren't for you juggling the logistics in the [Philippines] and [Thailand] plus the creative side of Kumanthong,” he added.

Kumanthong is directed by Xian. It is co-written by Xian and Iris, with Iris standing in as a creative consultant as well.

It hit Philippine cinemas on Wednesday, with its red carpet premiere taking place on Tuesday. Xian and Iris were present at the event of course.

In his post, the actor thanked Iris for “believing,” “pushing,” “carrying” everyone, going through “great lengths” and “creating magic.”

“To more films with you [Iris],” Xian wrote.

"Kuman Thong" stars Cindy Miranda, Althea Ruedas, Max Nattapol, Jariya Therakaosal, and Emman Esquivel.

Its trailer released last month introduced a mother of two who loses a son in a tragedy. To help bring her son back from the dead, the mother enlists the help of a Kuman Thong statue.

In Thai folk religion, a Kuman Thong, or Black Magic Baby, is believed to bring luck to its owner.

But instead of bringing her child back, things take a scary turn.

"Kuman Thong" was shot entirely in Thailand.

In May, Xian confirmed in a magazine interview that he is dating Iris after he was spotted attending a riding school with the filmmaker and some friends.

Xian most recently starred in the GMA Primetime Series "Love. Die. Repeat" and in the sexy thriller film, "Playtime."
