Viral couple in Negros Oriental retake vows after wedding mishap

Janine and Jove Sagario, the couple from Negros Oriental who went viral after their wedding mishap, had the chance to retake their vows.

Video production company FoxDesign Studios shared the same edit of the couple's wedding ceremony that happened in an event's place in Dumaguete City. It was officiated by Amlan, Negros Oriental Mayor Manjoe Sycip.

In the video, Janine can be seen wearing a wedding gown designed by Anthony Sinco.

The wedding was sponsored by several suppliers in Negros Oriental, who helped the couple enjoy their wedding via an all-expense paid "Take 2" after learning of the incident in their original ceremony.

On June 8, Janine and Jove's wedding was rushed as the officiating priest started the ceremony even before the bride reached the altar.

In a Facebook post, bride Janine said that the staff members of Saint Andrew Parish Church allegedly reproached her and her entourage for arriving an hour late.

The wedding was supposed to be held at 8 a.m., but the couple was told by one of their ninangs that the ceremony was moved to 9:30 a.m. The ninang later apologized for giving them wrong information.

The priest rushed the ceremony because a funeral mass was scheduled at 9:30 a.m.

Following the mishap, the Diocese of Dumaguete-Commission on Catechesis, Saint Andrew Parish apologized to the couple and their families, friends, and guests affected by the incident.

"We humbly admit the fact that along the way, there were statements made carried away by emotions," the Office of Msgr. Albert Erasmo Bohol, the parish priest, said in a statement.

"Hence, we express our sincere apology to the bride and the groom, to their respective families who were directly offended by the turn of these events, and to the people who have seen our humanity as priests in a time when we were weakest of any possible control."

They also apologized to the bereaved family who waited for the wedding to finish before their scheduled funeral mass.
