Philmar Alipayo speaks up on viral video hanging out with a woman
Philmar Alipayo has finally addressed the viral video where he was seen hanging out with a woman.
On Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” the professional surfer said people would often approach him for a small talk whenever they see him out in Siargao.
While “lagi akong nakikipag-usap," Philmar said he always knows his limitations and boundaries and avoids situations and people where he might give off the wrong impressions.
“Kahit papaano, [kahit] sobra kong lasing, alam kong may ano [boundaries],” the surfing champ explained.
Meanwhile, his partner Andi Eigenmann said that while she and Philmar ignored and laughed about the video upon seeing it, “What bothers me is finding out that it was done on purpose."
"That the person in the video was the one who posted it. That’s what bothered me because you just created something super unnecessary,” the former actress said.
“In terms of what people think he’s doing or his intentions were, that doesn’t matter to him I guess because the only opinion that matters to him is mine. Hindi niya naman asawa ‘yong mga tao na iyan,” she added.
In May, a woman named Crissa Liaging posted the now-deleted video on TikTok where she can be seen talking and hanging out with Philmar whom she saw while on a vacation in Siargao.
Shortly after, Andi addressed the issue, saying that she doesn’t see any “harm” with what Philmar did.
Crissa also released her own statement, denying the rumors between her and Philmar.
The video came at the heels of the breakup rumors that surrounded the Andi and Philmar following the trip to Japan Andi took with the Eigenmann family after her mother Jaclyn Jose's death.
Philmar recently had a transesophageal echocardiogram procedure, to relieve some difficulty he was experiencing from a congenital heart defect.
Andi and Philmar have been engaged since 2020. Their family, called the Happy Islanders, is based in Siargao.
The couple are set to get married this year but decided to postpone the wedding to give way to Jaclyn Jose’s passing.
Jaclyn died on March 2 at 60 years old due to a heart attack.
