True Faith vocalist Medwin Marfil opens up on marriage, coming out

Medwin Marfil, the vocalist of OPM band True Faith, opened up on his recent marriage and coming out as a member of the LGBT community.

In an interview on the "Updated With Nelson Canlas" podcast, Medwin and his partner Mark Angeles talked about their decision to tie the knot in the United States.

According to Mark, it was their way of solidifying and formalizing their commitment to each other.

"We just feel that it's important. If it's something that straight couples want to do, then we can do it. Why not?" Medwin said.

He also said it was not easy to come out as gay.

"Because in the band scene, there's really a culture of machismo," he said.

However, Medwin believes that times are changing and people are freer to embrace themselves in public.

"What's important is if you're a good person, if you're a good artist. If they want to express their opinion, go ahead. But it's not our reality. It's not who we are," he said.

Medwin revealed that he was married last month through a social media post.

Happy Pride, Medwin and Mark!
