Joaquin Domagoso on being a young dad: ''Yung purpose ko sa buhay, nabuo'

It has been almost two years since Joaquin Domagoso became a father to his son, Scott.

In his interview on Tuesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the Sparkle star shared that the little boy has started schooling.

"I'm happy where my son is. He started school officially, so congrats to little Scott. Every day, new memories are being made," Joaquin said.

The young actor said that he stands by the decisions he made.

"My career won't stop itself because of my decisions because my will is as strong as my love for my son," he said.

When asked what he discovered about himself as he goes through fatherhood, Joaquin said, "That I can work harder than I think I can't. There are things na before, I feel like, 'Hindi, kaya ko 'yon, pabayaan na, 'wag na.'"

Now that he is already a dad, Joaquin said that he has also become a role model.

"Kumbaga if I don't do these things, my son won't—'di niya ako susundan," he said. "And there are other things na, kumbaga, work. Working a 9-5 job, realizing it how other people would go through it. 'Yung tipong you wake up for your son, you do all these things. Tapos 'yung at the end of the day, uuwi ka, hinihintay ka pa rin. All the joys. 'Yung purpose ko sa buhay, nabuo."

Joaquin did not share much about his current relationship status.

"Sa aking love life ngayon po, I don't want to say anything too much, but right now, I'm in a very happy place," he said.

Joaquin's dad, Isko Moreno, first revealed in July 2022 that Joaquin had welcomed a baby boy with Raffa Castro.

In a previous interview on the show, Joaquin admitted that he felt scared of becoming a father, but his father was supportive about it.

"He was dancing. Sumasayaw si Papa," he said. "Nawala 'yung stress ko 'cause I was so scared to tell them like what is my dad gonna say? Baka magalit. Magagalit sila."

Joaquin currently appears in GMA Afternoon Prime series "Lilet Matias: Attorney-at-Law," which airs weekdays at 3:20 p.m. after "Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap."
