Following Ronaldo Valdez's death, Janno Gibbs says he and Bing Loyzaga are in ‘a good place now’

Because of Ronaldo Valdez's death, Janno Gibbs says he and Bing Loyzaga are in ‘a good place now’

Janno Gibbs made it clear that he and his wife, Bing Loyzaga, never separated.

On Friday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Janno admitted he and Bing would go through rough patches, and they would often get asked, “Nagbalikan ba?” or “Naghiwalay?”

“Never naman. We’re married. We just have bad days, bad moments, ‘di ba?” he said.

These days however, following his dad Ronaldo Valdez's death, their relationship is doing so much better than before.

“We’re in a good place now especially because of what happened to my dad. It was me and Bing who was there. Kami lang ang nakakita sa kaniya in his state,” he said.

According to Janno, “Na-traumatize si Bing” with what happened.

They became are each other’s security blankets.

He continued, “Na-traumatize siya with what happened. Kasi wala na rin ang daddy niya eh, so daddy ko ‘yung daddy na niya, ‘di ba? ‘Yun na lang ang tatay niya eh, so na-traumatize siya.”

Janno also said unlike before, he and Bing now sleep together in the same room.

“Hindi ko siya puwedeng iwanan, hindi rin niya ako puwedeng iwanan mag-isa,” he said. “Now, we’re in a good place.”

He thinks his dad would have been happy because of this, Janno said.

Ronaldo Valdez was reported dead on December 17, 2023. He was 76.

Janno confirmed his father's passing and asked people "respect our privacy in our grieving moment."

Before this, the pair worked together on "Itutumba ka ng Tatay Ko," which marked Janno’s directorial debut.

In a previous interview with “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” Janno said they still pushed through with releasing the film a month after his dad’s death because it was “the perfect time to show it para mabura 'yung last horrible image of him.”

"Sabi ko nga this is the best parting gift he can ever give me. Supporting his son's dream. It was very special kasi first time ko mag direct, daddy ko pa. You know, an award-winning actor. So I had this very nice memory of him," he said.
