Jayda Avanzado admits she and Darren Espanto had a ‘mutual understanding': ‘We were special to each other at one point’

Jayda Avanzado confirmed she and Darren Espanto once had something special.

On Wednesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Tito Boy recalled Darren describing Jayda as among the best singers of this generation. 

“I was very flattered by that comment. It was nice of Darren,” Jayda said smiling.

When asked if they were once in a relationship, she confirmed "there was something romantic between him and me at one point nung mga bata po kami."

Describing that period as something she fondly looks back on, Jayda said "it was mutual understanding po, Tito Boy.” 

When asked to explain what that meant, Jayda said "it was just mutual and we were vocal sa aming dalawa, we were vocal of that. We were special to each other at one point.”

Harking back to Darren's interview last Monday, when he told Tito Boy about wanting to keep certain things private, Jayda said a mutual understanding depended on the "boundaries that you set, pero siguro po with how young we were, I think it was just something na we enjoyed in the moment po."

Jayda is the only child of Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado.

In their previous visit to the show, the parents said that Jayda does come to them to talk about her love life, especially with suitors.

"Alam namin," Jessa said. "Basta nakikinig ako. Nakikinig ako, hinahayaan ko lang siya magkwento lahat tapos sasabihin ko sa kanya na 'Can I be honest?' ayon. Tapos sasabihin ko rin sa kanya ano 'yung opinyon ko, kung ano tingin ko sa sitwasyon."

Meanwhile, Darren earlier said that he doesn’t have a girlfriend.

He was previously linked to Cassy Legaspi, but both of them clarified that they are just friends.
