Jessy Mendiola says second wedding with Luis Manzano fulfills promise made to each other 'na ikakasal kami sa harap ng Diyos'
Jessy Mendiola is a brimful of happiness as she spoke about her family on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Friday.
She and husband Luis Manzano recently had a renewal of vows in Palawan, and according to Jessy, it was a promise they made to each other, "na ikakasal kami sa harap ng Diyos."
"Sabi ko sa kanya, kahit tayong dalawa na lang, OK lang," Jessy said, adding "at this point, masaya na ko. Kahit tayong dalawa lang sa harap ng Diyos."
While fulfilling their promise was the main purpose of their wedding, Jessy said the occasion proved to be an opportunity to spend time with both their families.
"Naisip namin, better if we do it with our families. Para our two families will bond and finally meet," she said, adding it's been a long time since her father was able to come home to the Philippines.
Jessy and Luis first tied the knot in a civil ceremony back in 2021, and back then, "When we did our first wedding sa Lipa, wala yung family ko kasi pandemic, we were at the height of the pandemic," she explained.
The recent beach wedding proved to be a real happy event for the family. Their daughter, Rosie aka Peanut, charmed everybody in her gown — "Little bride siya," Jessy said — while Luis' parents Edu and Vilma, and his step-father, Sen. Ralph Recto, looked so comfortable and at ease with each other.
