Heart Evangelista shares touching encounter with Chiz's twins during their rough patch

Heart Evangelista and Senator Chiz Escudero famously went through a rough patch in their marriage sometime in 2022 and on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Thursday, they shared how they deliberately did not involve the kids, Chesa and Quino.

"Even with my first separation, they were never involved," Chiz said, adding nobody from his family was allowed to intervene.

"But they're very smart," Heart said.

"They never said anything pero I remember, I was on the treadmill, lumapit si Kino sa 'kin," the Kapuso celebrity began.

"He said 'Tita Heart, who's going to take care of you? You don't know how to get a taxi.' Tapos parang naiyak ako talaga, kasi he was worried about me," Heart continued.

As she assured the boy that everything is going to be OK, Heart "realized they do love me."

According to Chiz, he talked to the twins the same way he spoke to them during his first separation.

They were allowed to ask questions and they did ask questions, with Chiz saying he was outright honest that something was going on. 

"I told them, something's going on. But that they should be confident and have faith that it will be alright," Chiz said.

Calling the period "my darkest time," Heart said "I knew what I was doing but I didn't know why. I feel like I was possessed and taken somewhere else. I was full of anger."

"I felt that the situation was bigger than — I was very confused and it didn't help that I was with the wrong set of people. I was basically out of character," she added. 

Heart credits her husband for his steadfast faith and "his belief in the Heart that he knows."

"I've never met anyone — not even a friend. Everybody failed me during that time but he believed in my heart. And it's because of his belief, the Heart that he knows. He knew that I was gonna come back. And if he didn't, it would have been done." she said.

The two-part interview, which began on Thursday afternoon, also saw Heart turn candid as she recalled her early days as a stepmom. — LA, GMA Integrated News
