Kris Bernal says motherhood is her ‘favorite era’: ‘I'm so overwhelmed but I'm also so grateful’

Kris Bernal is embracing motherhood with so much grace.

Her family is currently in La Union and on Instagram, where the actress shared precious moments with her six-month-old daughter Hailee, Kris reflected on being a first-time mom.

“I never knew how much love my heart can hold until you made me a mama, Hailee,” she began.

“Being a mama is my favorite era,” she added. “I'm so overwhelmed but I'm also so grateful.”

Kris said being a mom means having endless to-do lists, but in return it makes her heart feel so full.

“I'm always on the verge of a meltdown but I'd be lost without her,” she said.

“I sometimes feel suffocated by motherhood but I also found my purpose [in it],” she added.

Kris also acknowledged how hard it is to take care of a child, and how every mother is different from one another.

“Some days I go a little crazy, but it's okay because, in the end, no one could ever love my child the way I do,” she said.

“Because I'm a mother. I wouldn't want it any other way,” she added.

Kris has been open about her motherhood journey, dealing with hormones, breastfeeding, and embracing her body.

On "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" last January, she revealed her postpartum anxiety diagnosis.

"I feel, bagong tao ako. I can no longer recognize my old self. Things that I used to love, wala na," she told the King of Talk teary eyed.

"It's really not easy," she added. "I was diagnosed with postpartum anxiety kasi nahirapan talaga ako mag-adjust pero so far it's getting better."

Kris and businessman Perry Choi married in 2021. They announced their pregnancy in March 2023 and revealed that they will be having a baby girl in April. They introduced their daughter Hailee Lucca in August of that year.
