Maris Racal says her ideal type is a younger version of Rico Blanco

Maris Racal has opened up on her love story with Rico Blanco for the very first time.

In Vicki Belo's latest vlog, Maris told the celebrity doctor that she's been a fan of Rico ever since she was a kid. The influence came from her siblings, who are huge fans of the original Rivermaya back in the day.

The actress said that when she was asked about her type in the past, her top of mind answer was someone with Rico Blanco's looks who likes music.

"Actually, 'yung gusto ko 'yung younger version ni Rico," she said. "Super crush ko talaga siya."

"Hindi ko naman in-expect na siya 'yung ibibigay ni Lord, hindi 'yung younger version," she added with a laugh. 

Maris said their love story began when she tweeted on X (formerly Twitter) about wanting to collaborate with a musician to improve her music. 

"My fans know na idol ko si Rico, so ni-tag nila si Rico, then he replied," she said.

"I was just really eager to play my music in front of him," she added.

Since that fateful tweet and music collaboration, Maris and Rico developed feelings toward each other. 

Maris revealed that they had been dating for two years before they made their relationship public in 2021.

Soon after their announcement, Maris posted a photo of a cake that read, "Age is just a number." Rico is turning 50 this year, while Maris is turning 26.
