Rustan's chairperson and CEO Nedy Tantoco passes away at 77
Zenaida "Nedy" Tantoco, the chairperson and CEO of Rustan's, has passed away at 77.
On Instagram Stories, Nedy's granddaughter Nikki Huang shared a black-and-white photo of them together.
“My queen, my real life fairy god mother, and now my guardian angel,” Nikki wrote.
“I love you Lola. I’ll miss you forever,” she added. Nikki currently works for Rustan’s under its merchandising team.
According to the family’s statement posted on The Diarist, Tantoco died on the night of February 8. She was 77 years old.
“The Rustan Commercial Corporation, SSI Group, Inc., and Rustan Marketing Corporation chairwoman leaves an enduring legacy of excellence in the luxury retail sphere founded by her parents, Ambassador Bienvenido Tantoco, Sr. and Gliceria Rustia-Tantoco in 1952. Nedy was the couple’s eldest daughter,” the statement read.
“Although known in the industry for her astute professionalism, Nedy will always be better remembered as a nurturing force in fostering family empowerment and unity,” it added.
Funeral services for Tantoco will be held from February 10–12 at Forbes Park in Makati, followed by services in Taguig City on February 13–14.
The funeral mass will be held on February 16 at the Santuario de San Antonio Parish, Forbes Park in Makati. —Carby Basina/NB, GMA Integrated News
