Jasmine Curtis Smith says she's not getting married soon: 'Ibang commitment 'yun eh'

Jasmine Curtis Smith shared her reasons for why she and her longtime boyfriend Jeff Ortega will not be getting married anytime soon.

The Kapuso actress said that although they have talked about tying the knot and that marriage is their end goal, it is not something that they plan in the traditional sense.

“The planning is parang, we're constantly planning our finances, we're constantly planning how well our growth should be personally,” she said on “Updated with Nelson Canlas.”

Not only that, Jasmine said that they have no shared responsibilities big enough for them to get married.

“It's a document that I can manage without it, as far as this relationship is at work now,” she said.

She added that marriage is a new and deeper kind of commitment.

“Sa akin kasi, I know when I get married, I want to be a wife and a mom,” Jasmine said. “Ibang commitment yun eh. And I know I can't give it yet.”

She added, “So it's something we both know and we both naman realized together.”

The actress added that Jeff is also so ready to be a dad.

“I mean the way he takes care of me, ramdam na ramdam ko,” she said.

Despite these reasons, Jasmine is still excited to get married someday.

“Kasi ibang role yun sa buhay mo. Ibang pagmamahal, ibang version ng pagmamahal na ang pagiging asawa at pagiging nanay, ‘di ba?”

Jasmine stars in the series “Asawa ng Asawa Ko” on GMA Prime along with Rayver Cruz and Liezel Lopez.

She also previously starred in the film "In My Mother's Skin," an entry to the Sundance Film Festival in 2023.
