Here are tips on how to keep your pets stress-free during New Year's celebrations

New Year’s celebrations are not complete without the loud sounds of firecrackers and other noises to welcome a brand new year.

While it's fun for humans, our fur friends can be quite stressed.

Citing the Department of Health, a report on Unang Balita shared tips on how to take care of your pets this New Year.

Keep them inside the house

Keeping them inside the house will prevent them from running away out of fear of fireworks. This will also make sure they don't get injured.

Place them in a safe space

Always assure that they are in a safe space. Place them in a quiet room, along with their favorite toy!

Do the calm wraps

Wrap your fur babies with a cloth to ease the tension and fear building up in their bodies. You can use simple shirts for this.

Train them to the sound of fireworks

As early as now, train your dogs to the sound of fireworks. You can do this by exposing them to the sound while playing with them and giving some treats.

Put ID tags

Just in case your dogs get lost in the midst of New Year’s celebration, they can easily be returned if they have ID tags bearing your contact details.
