Janno Gibbs posts touching cover of 'Moon River' with Ronaldo Valdez
Janno Gibbs shared a touching performance of “Moon River” with his late father, Ronaldo Valdez.
In Janno's Instagram Reel, the two entertainers could be seen giving an emotional rendition of the song at a past event. Janno hyped up his dad as they took turns singing the song.
Janno previously called Ronaldo “the sweetest dad ever.”
He confirmed his father’s passing in a statement and requested privacy for their family.
Both Janno and Valdez were looking forward to a film they worked on together that was scheduled to hit cinemas in January 2024. It was Janno's first directorial job.
The veteran actor’s versatility was evident in his performances, as he embodied roles that ranged from comedic to dramatic, fatherly to antagonistic.
The Quezon City Police Department confirmed Ronaldo’s passing on Sunday afternoon. He was 76.
Authorities are still conducting a thorough investigation into Ronaldo’s cause of death.
In Marisol Abdurahman’s report on “24 Oras,” Monday, Major Don Don Llapitan, chief of the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said that the actor was found in his room at around 3 p.m. and he had a gunshot wound. A gun was also found.
Because a gun was found in the room, everyone in Valdez’s house was subjected to a paraffin test. This is part of the standard operating procedure for incidents that may involve a crime and doesn’t necessarily mean they are involved in what happened.
They are still awaiting the results of the paraffin and ballistic tests.
