Janno Gibbs on Ronaldo Valdez: 'The sweetest dad ever'
Janno Gibbs is all about honoring his late father, Ronaldo Valdez.
On Instagram Tuesday, the singer posted a photo with his dad, where they were both seen wearing the exact same brown set.
Janno was smiling at the camera as he folded his arms across his chest. Valdez meanwhile looked a lot more casual with his right hand touching his nape and eyes not looking at the camera. They both flashed their handsome smiles.
"The Sweetest Dad Ever," Janno wrote along with three emojis.
It had his followers more than 1K of his followers leaving messages of condolences and support to Janno, including Ogie Alcasid, Billy Crawford, Kim Rodriguez, Mark Herras, and Nelson Canlas.
Valdez was reported dead on Sunday. He was 76.
Janno confirmed his father's passing on Monday, asking that people "respect our privacy in our grieving moment."
"Your prayers and condolences are much appreciated," he added.
Meanwhile the Quezon City Police Department (QCPD) in a statement on Monday morning said it was "currently conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of the death of Mr. James Gibbs aka Ronaldo Valdez.”
“We understand the importance of this matter; hence, we are working diligently to gather all relevant facts and evidence,” it added.
In Marisol Abdurahman’s report on “24 Oras,” Monday, Major Don Don Llapitan, chief of the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said that the actor was found in his room around three o’clock in the afternoon and he had a gunshot wound. A gun was also found.
“Si Sir Ronaldo Valdez ay nakaupo po sa kanyang upuan, wala na pong malay. May tama sa right temple at ‘yung baril na ginamit nga ay nasa kamay pa rin ‘yung baril po,” said Major Llapitan.
Valdez was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
