Janno Gibbs issues statement following Ronaldo Valdez's passing
Janno Gibbs has taken to Instagram to confirm the passing of his father, veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez.
"It is with great sorrow that I confirm my father's passing," he said.
He said their family is requesting "that you respect our privacy in our grieving moment."
"Your prayers and condolences are much appreciated," Janno ended his short post.
Showbiz personalities, including Donita Rose, Mark Bautista, Rocco Nacino, Arnold Clavio quickly sent out their condolences to Janno and the rest of the family.
Valdez was one of the country's most reliable and popular actors in film and on TV. His versatility was evident in his performances, as he embodied roles that ranged from comedic to dramatic, fatherly to antagonistic.
On social media, both Janno and Valdez were looking forward to a film they worked on together that was scheduled to hit cinemas in January 2024. It was Janno's first directorial job.
In an earlier post about the movie, Janno said it was a privilege to direct his father. "Tnk U, Son! U Do Me Proud!! Luv Ya!!" Valdez replied in the comment section.
