Derek Ramsay reveals Ellen Adarna recently suffered a miscarriage

Derek Ramsay revealed Ellen Adarna recently suffered from a miscarriage.

According to PEP, Derek said they learned Ellen was pregnant during their recent vacation to Spain.

“Nung nasa Spain kami, nalaman namin na preggy si Ellen. And then, unfortunately, we lost the baby," he said during the media conference of Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Kampon."

[We were in Spain when we learned Ellen was pregnant. And then, unfortunatelyt, we lost the baby."

"Pero at least alam namin na hindi kami baog,” he added.

[At least we know we can conceive.]

Derek said they figured out about the pregnancy when Ellen's period got delayed, and "she's never delayed."

While in Spain, his wife of two years took a pregnancy test. "She was positive," he added.

It was on their way home when Ellen experienced spotting, a symptom of miscarriage. 

"Nag-i-spotting na siya, and then eventually, we lost the pregnancy," Derek said.

“So there’s nothing major — hindi niya kailangang magparaspa or anything. It was still early on in the trimester, a few weeks lang naman," he added.

Nevertheless, Derek and Ellen said their main priority as a couple right now is to get pregnant again after they move past this unfortunate incident.

In June, Ellen quit smoking after 17 years to prepare for pregnancy.

Ellen and Derek, who got married in 2021, previously said they plan to have a baby this year. She is hoping for a girl, as they both already have sons from a previous relationship.
