Gladys Reyes, Christopher Roxas anchor 30-year marriage on faith, respect, patience

Gladys Reyes said separation is not an option for her and Christopher Roxas.

In the recent episode of "Updated with Nelson Canlas" podcast, the veteran actress said there's no handbook for happy and long-lasting relationships because "it's case to case basis."

"Puwedeng nag work sa 'yo, hindi nag-work sa 'min, 'di ba?" she said.

But if she has to speak for her experience, Gladys said her marriage with Christopher is anchored in faith, respect, and patience.

"Faith namin is a big factor because alam mo 'yung iba yung may takot, 'di ba?" she said. "May takot ka na masira 'yung family, na masira 'yung relationship."

Gladys said that she holds on to their faith and prayers when things get tough.

"Hindi option dapat ang hiwalayan," she said. "Never magiging option 'yan."

In an episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" in April, Gladys also mentioned the importance of communication in their long-standing relationship.

"Ang mga lalaki, hindi sila manghuhula," she said. "Kaya sabihin natin [kung ano ang gusto natin.]"

In January 2018, Gladys and Christopher renewed their vows in time for their 25th anniversary. The two started dating as teenagers in 1993 on the set of their TV drama series "Mara Clara."

Gladys currently stars in GMA primetime series "Black Rider," which airs weeknights on GMA Telebabad at 8:00 p.m. after "24 Oras."
