Aubrey Miles shares update on Rocket's progress, calls it a 'miracle'
Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero's daughter, Rocket, has achieved great progress after months of treatment and therapy.
On Instagram, Aubrey shared an update on her daughter's condition as a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
The proud mother posted several photos of Rocket posing patiently for the camera, something that was almost impossible before.
"From not being able to take pictures to this. Still a working progress but this will do," she said. "Being able to stand still as a kid on the autism spectrum is huge. Smiling is a bonus."
"From not talking and now copying every word we say is a miracle," she said.
Rocket underwent stem cell therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy back in August. She is also undergoing speech and occupational therapy.
Aubrey and Troy announced that Rocket was diagnosed with ASD last year. In December, the four-year-old said her first full sentence: "Happy birthday to you."
According to Aubrey, Rocket taught them a different kind of love after her diagnosis.
"'Yung relationship namin ni Troy, parang, 'may ibibigay pa pala tayo.' Akala mo ito na yung best love. Hindi pa pala, so ang dami lang namin natutunan," she said.
Aubrey and Troy have been together for 20 years. They got married last year.
Aside from Rocket, they have an older son named Hunter. Aubrey also has a son, John Maurie, with ex-boyfriend JP Obligacion.
