Michelle Dee's mom Melanie Marquez flies to El Salvador ahead of Miss Universe pageant
Michelle Dee's mom, Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, just flew to El Salvador to support her ahead of the Miss Universe pageant!
In Cata Tibayan's exclusive interview on "24 Oras," Tuesday, Melanie admitted that she is feeling even more nervous now compared to when she competed herself.
"Parang ako iyong sa kasali, this time ako kinakabahan," she said. "Stage mother ako ata talaga."
Melanie brought plenty of Philippine flags that will be distributed to Michelle's supporters during the competition.
As for her advice to her daughter, Melanie said she won't give specific tips but reminded Michelle to not be tense.
"I know you have your own style. I can’t tell you what to do, just be relaxed and meditate through prayers," she said.
Melanie also thanked Michelle's fans for cheering her on and voting for her in the Voice For Change online poll.
"I want her to know I love her so much. A lot of people love her too because every body saw her dedication," she said.
Michelle has been serving looks after looks during the preliminary activities for Miss Universe. She will use "Pilipinas" during her introduction and previously hinted on her national costume.
The Miss Universe coronation night will be on November 18 (November 19 Philippine time) in El Salvador.
