Chito Miranda waxes sentimental while missing his family

Chito Miranda got emotional after working away from his family for the first time since they went on a one-month vacation.

On Instagram, Thursday, the Parokya ni Edgar frontman posted photos of his family while they were touring Canada and expressed how much he misses having them by his side.

According to Chito, he went straight to work after his family returned to the Philippines. He had a taping for two days, so he opted to stay in Quezon City instead of traveling back to their home in Cavite.

"Grabe ang separation anxiety ko... tapos sinabayan pa ng jet lag," he said. "Perfect combo eh."

Chito said he was initially glad to have some alone time.

"Puwede ako bumawi ng tulog at mag-ayos ng mga kelangan ko ayusin na walang distorbo, thinking it would be nice to have a short break from them kahit 1 day lang," he said.

"Wala eh... nagising ako ng 2 a.m. and sobrang miss na miss ko talaga si Neri at 'yung mga anak namin. So this is me, posting about my family and how much I miss them, trying to make myself feel better and less lonely (and less guilty for not being there with them)."

Chito said he thought about how Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) handle being away from their families for a long time.

"Ang OA ko nga kasi uwi din naman ako bukas after work eh," he said. "Siguro na-senti at nalungkot lang ako dahil kulang pa ako sa tulog tapos nagising ako bigla ng madaling araw na hindi ko sila katabi."

Chito said he messaged his wife Neri, hoping that she was still awake, but it seemed that she was still asleep so he posted on Instagram instead.

"Try ko na lang ulit matulog. Love you, Neri. Miss na miss ko na kayo," he said.

Chito and Neri got married in 2014. They have two sons Miggy and Cash, and an adopted daughter, Pia.

Chito is one of the coaches of "The Voice Generations," along with Julie Anne San Jose, Billy Crawford, and Stell of SB19. The talent show airs on Sunday at 7:20 p.m. after "Bubble Gang."
