Kylie Padilla says she doesn't want to put Aljur Abrenica in a 'negative light'
Despite their failed marriage, Kylie Padilla said she still doesn’t want to put Aljur Abrenica in a negative light.
On Friday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the actress shared something she learned following their breakup.
“Medyo cliche eh, but I wish nagtira ako para sa sarili ko,” Kylie said, saying that she really gave her all in the relationship.
“But because I made the promise of marriage, even if, sabi ko sa sarili ko, ‘OK, if I’m unhappy now and magiging ganito na ‘yung setup namin, paglalaban ko pa rin para sa mga anak ko,” Kylie continued.
[It's a bit cliche but I wish I left some for myself. But because I made the promise of marriage, I told myself 'OK, if I'm unhappy now, and it'll be like this, I will still fight for my kids.]
“Inubos ko and nauwi din sa hiwalayan,” the Sparkle star said in tears, saying she also came from a broken family.
“So, ayokong matulad, like, I hate it when people say, ‘Artista ‘yan, palit-palit lang, like that’s their life. Like, ganun talaga ‘yung style ng mga artista when it comes to relationships, but people don’t know how much it hurt me,” she said, saying it is very unfair and that she wanted more for her kids.
[I don't know it — I hate it when people say 'she's in showbiz, changing partners is the norm, like that's their life. Like that's their style when it comes to relationships, but people don't know how much it hurt me.]
Kylie also said that she made a promise to herself, even though she went through postpartum problems.
“Pinaglaban ko pa rin hanggang sa dulo na paninindigan ko ‘yung ginawa namin na kasal and the fact na it wasn’t returned, masakit sa 'kin,” she said.
[I really fought for it all the way to the end. I stood up for what we did, for our marriage and the fact that it wasn't returned. That hurt.]
Kylie said that she gives great importance to the promise of marriage, despite not believing in marriage before.
“But because I want my kids to have a whole family, I did it,” she said.
However, Kylie said that she has no regrets when it comes to the fight that she waged just to save their marriage.
“Walang pagsisisi, wala, kasi my kids have a really good relationship with their dad until now. And one thing that I don’t want them to go through is wala silang tatay or maramdaman nila na wala silang tatay so wala akong pagsisisi,” she said.
[No regrets, because my kids have a really good relationships with their dad until now. And one thing that I don't want them to go through is not having father, or to feel like they don't have a father. So I have no regrets.]
She added, “Tsaka I don’t want to hold my ex, Aljur, in a negative light, never, ever.”
Kylie agreed, that after all, Aljur is still the father of their kids.
“Yes, magre-reflect ‘yun sakin, to my kids, no,” she said.
Kylie and Aljur separated in 2021. Aljur later admitted that he cheated on Kylie.
Following the separation, Kylie and their sons, Alas and Axl, moved into their new home.In September, Kylie shared that she doesn't hold them back from seeing their dad.
