Ricci Rivero’s mom, Abigail Uy Rivero, is one supportive parent, as she gives her blessing to her son and his girlfriend Los Baños municipal councilor Leren Mae Bautista.

In Ricci’s Instagram post, where he hard-launched his relationship with Leren, Abigail left a comment, giving her piece of advice for the couple.

“Walang niloko at walang nanloko," she began.

“[S]adyang hindi lang sila ang gustong magkatuluyan ng tadhana,” Abigail added.

She then asked, “Have you ever wondered why some relationships work out while others don’t?”

According to basketball player's mom, it can be “annoying” when things don’t work out, especially when you really want to be with a certain person and have already given "your ALL.”

“God will end a relationship if it’s TOXIC,” she said. “If you're in a toxic environment, you do not need to ‘get used to it for a long time’ or ‘just get over it.’ God wants you to remove yourself from these situations. God will even help you set up an unthinkable escape… Just learn to LISTEN!”

Abigail added that the “truth” that if it’s meant to be, it will happen, and “When God wants you with someone, He will make it happen.”

She continued by saying a healthy relationship is “one in which there is oneness of goals, purpose, VALUES & BELIEFS.”

“Keep your relationship healthy by LISTENING, talking, accepting, managing conflict, making time for each other and praying together,” she wrote.

Abigail ended her comment by saying, “May Father God almighty bless you both!”

Last week, Ricci publicized his relationship with the former beauty queen and expressed how much he cherishes Leren.

In June, Ricci and Leren were hounded by speculation after they were photographed doing an outreach program together. That led to rumors that Leren was the third party in his relationship with Andrea Brillantes.

The municipal councilor denied her alleged romantic involvement with the basketball star, saying that the claims were "entirely false and have no basis in reality."

Ricci also denied that the former beauty queen was the cause of his breakup with Andrea.

"Tito Boy, wala pong kinalaman dito si Councilor Leren," he said in an episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda."

He said the outreach was part of his birthday celebration, which he has done every year since he was in college. — Carby Basina/LA, GMA Integrated News
