John Lloyd Cruz says son Elias saved his life

John Lloyd Cruz has portrayed several roles in his many years in the show business industry, but nothing beats him being a father in real life.

On Tuesday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the actor credited Elias, his son with Ellen Adarna, as his saving grace.

"Niligtas niya [Elias] 'yung buhay ko," John Lloyd said. "Hindi ko ma-imagine 'yung buhay ko kung paano [magpapatuloy] kung hindi [siya] dumating."

John Lloyd said being a father to Elias is his life's victory and he is very lucky to have him.

"Ang lupit nung naging role niya sa buhay ko," he said. "Ang dami niyang binigay na bago, bagong kahulugan, bagong duties, all of a sudden iba na 'yung tingin mo sa lahat."

According to John Lloyd, co-parenting Elias with Ellen Adarna is not a walk in the park, but they have a system that personally works for both of them.

"Napakasuwerte ko at ako ay nagpapasalamat kay Ellen, kay Derek [Ramsay] dahil iniisip nila 'yung kapakanan ng bata," he said.

In July, Ellen said John Lloyd has consistently provided financial support for Elias.

Ellen is married to Derek, while John Lloyd confirmed his relationship with visual artist Isabel Santos.
