Bella Poarch tears up as she finally opens up about ex-husband, divorce

Bella Poarch has finally opened up about her ex-husband, a year after shocking the world with news of her divorce.

In an interview on "Call Her Daddy," the social media influencer couldn't help her tears as she talked about their relationship, which lasted seven years.

She revealed that they met when they were 19 and both working at the United States Navy.

They were on the same squadron, but Bella worked with weapons, and her ex worked with parachutes.

"We were both very introverted. And as soon as we saw each other... it was like love at first sight," she said. "He didn't say a word, and I didn't say a word because we were both introverted."

They then started seeing each other at the gym. Bella said that she had to say hi first, "because he was never going to."

"He definitely helped me through a lot of the dark times," she said. "We did a lot of our firsts together."

The proposal happened two months after they started dating, and the engagement lasted two years.

Asked if she wanted to get engaged at that point in time, Bella said yes.

"I thought we were actually going to be together forever," she said. "He has, like, a tattoo, 'Forever always together.'"

Her ex proposed in Guam, and didn't have enough money for a ring, so he got her a diamond necklace instead.

They eloped and tied the knot in Hawaii.

"The main reason because we didn't want to deal with saying our vows in front of our families," Bella said with a laugh.

On their wedding day, she shared that they were both "really broke," and she poured her money into the wedding. She also spent what was left of her cash into their hotel on their wedding night.

"So we had zero dollars that night and we didn't get to eat dinner, but we were married and we were so happy," she said. "We were just so broke. Young, dumb and broke, literally. But happy."

Divorce

Touching on the divorce, Bella said, "Everything just happened so fast."

"TikTok happened and he didn't want to be in the spotlight," she added. "I respect that though."

Tearing up, she said that it was hard when she wanted to pursue music and become an artist and share content "but the person you love want something different."

Although they're divorced, Bella clarified that they're on good terms.

"It was a mutual decision. There was a time when people cheated on him and that's why we got a divorce, but that's not actually the truth. Nothing like that happened."

Bella's divorce made headlines late 2022, shocking fans who had no idea that she was married in the first place.

After the news broke, Bella released a statement, saying, "I'm sorry if everyone thinks I've been keeping it a secret. I will address my divorce when I am ready to speak about it." —JCB, GMA Integrated News
