Kazel Kinouchi says she never met her late dad: 'I don't have any idea how he looks like'

Kazel Kinouchi revealed that she never got to meet her Japanese dad, who has already passed away.

On Wednesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the Sparkle star said that she does not even know what his face looks like.

"We haven't met. I don't have any idea how he looks like hanggang ngayon," she said.

Kazel said she tried looking for her dad in her early 20s, but by that time, he was already gone.

"Kasi before, wala namang mga social media, 'di ba? If may mga social media lang siguro, nahanap ko pa siya," she said.

Kazel said she learned about her dad's death through her cousin's dad, who was friends with him.

"Tapos 'yun, sinabi lang nila na ano na, wala na," the actress said.

While she was growing up, Kazel said she never thought to ask about her dad.

"I don't know if it's just me pero alam mo 'yung Tito Boy pagkalabas mo pa lang, kakapanganak mo pa lang, growing up without a father, hindi ko na natanong," she said.

"Tsaka, I was full of love naman eh. I was a lola's girl. I was raised by my lola tapos 'yung tita ko," Kazel said, saying she also didn't want to put her mom in an awkward situation.

"Never din siyang nag-open up sa 'kin [about my dad]," she said, which Kazel said she respected.

Kazel added that she never longed for her dad but admitted that there were times when she felt sad.

"Kunyari may mga, 'yung mga classmates ko, may father sila, complete family, may family event, pero 'yun, lagi kong kasama 'yung lola ko," she said.

She also shared that because of this, she relates to her "Abot-Kamay na Pangarap" character, Zoey.

"Si Zoey kasi, 'yung character niya, she longs for a dad. Meron siyang dad, pero wala siyang time," she said.

"Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap" also stars Jillian Ward, Carmina Villarroel, Richard Yap, Pinky Amador, Ken Chan, and more.

The series airs Mondays to Saturdays at 2:30 pm after "Eat Bulaga."
