Ricky Davao sheds tears as he recalls daughter Rikki Mae coming out to him: 'Natanggap ko naman agad'

Ricky Davao turned emotional as he recalled how his daughter Rikki Mae came out to him as a member of the LGBT+ community.

On Tuesday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the veteran actor and filmmaker said his daughter came out to him in the form of a long letter.

Ricky narrated how the day before, he received a call about an incident in her school made him mad.

“Something happened in her school, nabalitaan ko, nagalit ako,” he said.

“Nag-aayos ako ng shoes, tapos nagalit ako, binato ko. Hindi naman siya tinamaan, [but] then she cried,” he added while being emotional.

The following day, Ricky said his daughter gave him a long letter expressing her apology and an admission that she is a lesbian.

"She admitted that she's different, that she's part of the [LGBT+ community]," he said.

"Of course natanggap ko naman agad because I love her, and I respect [her]," he added. "So, whatever makes her happy."

In June, Ricky's former partner Jackie Lou Blanco also guested in "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" and revealed she had an inkling that her daughter might be gay.

In the same episode, the mother of three also admitted that she wished she and Ricky didn't separate.

Rikki Mae is Jackie Lou and Ricky's second child.
