Ricky Davao talks about separation from Jackie Lou Blanco: ‘We just have to move on’
Ricky Davao admits going through a breakup is difficult.
On Tuesday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Ricky enumerated some factors that make it so painful.
“Actually, hindi ako nakaka-good bye, ang hirap. Kahit nung bata pa ako, mahirap,” he said.
[Actually, I don't know how to say good bye. It's hard. Even when I was younger, it's always been hard.]
“‘Yung breakups kasi, may ano ‘yan eh, may galit, and then may denial, tapos dahan-dahan, may tatanggapin mo na ba o hindi. Mami-miss mo, atras-abante, ang hirap eh,” he continued.
[With breakups, there's anger, there's denial, and then slowly, you go through a negotiation whether or not you will accept it. You will miss her, it's hard.]
The actor-director added that breakups change through time as people mature, “but it’s very hard. It’s very painful. Ang hirap daanan.”
Ricky was then asked by Boy about his comment on Jackie Lou Blanco saying she regrets their separation.
Back in June, Jackie Lou appeared on "Fast Talk" and said it was the one thing she wishes she could change about the past.
"Kung meron akong babaguhin, sana hindi kami naghiwalay ni Ricky — kung mababago ko siya. Only because I can see how affected my children were," said.
For Ricky, “It happened 23 years ago. and we just have to move on.”
“Ako nga, minsan nag-comment ako na ‘Itong nangyaring ito, wala sa plano to.’ Akalain mo may nag-comment pa, ‘Bakit? Plano ba namin ‘yan?’”
“You have to accept, move on, continue living, be positive,” Ricky said.
In the "Fast Talk" segment of the interview, he admitted he is currently in love.
Though separated, the two live two blocks from each other and co-parent their three grown children.
They are also currently working together on “Love Before Sunrise” with Bea Alonzo and Dennis Trillo.
On Fast Talk, Ricky assured there is no tension between them, noting that they have already worked “several times” already. — Carby Basina/LA, GMA Integrated News
