Chito Miranda defends wife Neri Naig’s meal plan amid backlash
Chito Miranda defended the P1,000 meal plan shared by his wife, Neri Naig.
On Friday, Chito took to Instagram to defend his wife, saying "It was mostly for fun, but she also thought that it can be useful for those who might want to use it as a guide."
According to the Parokya ni Edgar vocalist, Neri wanted to make a P1,000 meal plan after her first P2,000 meal plan became a hit.
But because “it was intended for those who already knew what she was doing, she made the crucial mistake of not filling in the details," Chito said.
“It was soon picked up by those who knew nothing of what she was doing, and was instantly bashed for it,” he added.
Chito expressed disappointment with Neri's bashers, saying "Naisip lang naman ng asawa ko na baka sakaling makatulong yung meal plan nya sa mga tao that might find it useful, na-bash pa sya ng mga taong hindi naman nakasubaybay kung bakit ginagawa nya yung meal plan.”
“What a cruel, cruel world,” he continued.
He ended his post by writing, “For those who got angry and threw stones without knowing the details of what she was doing, good job sa inyo.”
Last week, the "Wais na Misis" author uploaded a sample weekly meal plan that received mixed reactions from netizens, with some saying the idea was impossible. Others meanwhile called the celebrity entrepreneur "out of touch" and "unrealistic."
Neri's weekly plan included a variety of breakfast and lunch suggestions, while the entire dinner portion of the plan had “leftovers” written in the whole column.
She also added a “palengke list” with protein, vegetables, and grains/starches.
Neri has already deleted her controversial post, with Chito saying "she will make it more detailed for those who do not fully understand what she was doing."
Chito also assured those “who knew what Neri was doing” that his wife would improve the details to make the meal guide more helpful.
Chito and Neri tied the knot in 2014. They have two sons, Miggy and Cash.
Neri is currently taking up her master's in business administration.
Neri is also an entrepreneur with several businesses to her name, including a beauty salon, a gourmet tuyo business, among many others.
She is set to release a book titled “Wais na Misis” in October.
