Kylie Padilla says her sons got closer to dad Aljur Abrenica following their separation

Kylie Padilla got candid and personal in the first episode of her podcast, "A Conversation with Kylie."

In the first installment of her personal project, the Sparkle star shared why she doesn't hold back her sons, Alas and Axl, from seeing their dad, Aljur Abrenica.

"For a time, a lot of people were asking me na, 'Pa'no mo ginawa 'yun, Kylie?' Pa'no mo ginawa na, you know, like, hindi ko daw nilayo 'yung mga anak ko sa tatay nila," she said.

According to Kylie, she leaned into her own experience because her own parents, Robin Padilla and Liezl Sicangco, also separated.

"What I learned from my mom is 'yun nga, don't involve the kids kasi 'yung relationship ng mga anak mo sa tatay or mommy nila, sa kanila lang 'yun," she said.

"My kids got even closer to their dad after nung paghiwalay," she added. "So, 'yun nga, gusto ko ang root pa rin is love even with their dad. Ganu'n din 'yung gusto ko."

Kylie and Aljur separated in 2021. Aljur later admitted that he cheated on Kylie.

Following the separation, Kylie and the kids moved into their new home. The actress has also been open about her healing and spiritual journey.
