KC Concepcion on stepdad Kiko Pangilinan, sister Frankie: 'I unfollowed, but I will never unlove'

KC Concepcion aired her side of the story after news circulated online that she unfollowed her stepfather Kiko Pangilinan and half sister Frankie on Instagram.

In the Today's Talk segment of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Wednesday, the King of Talk read the statement personally sent to him by KC.

"I have learned my place in people's lives, and out of respect, I will not overplay my part," the actress said.

"I am forever grateful to have experienced the love of a father through the experience of having a stepfather since I was 12 years old," she added. "I'm sure hindi din po perfect ang journey niya, but I know he's trying his best."

KC also said she believes she has been a good daughter who genuinely loves her family, but she is currently prioritizing her own happiness.

"I realize po na life is short, sayang po kung aksayahin natin ang time with negativity," she said. "I just want the family to be happy, and also myself to be happy."

"Yes, I unfollowed on social media platform—but I will not unfollow the lessons I have learned growing up into the woman I am today," she added. "I unfollowed, but I will never unlove."

In the latter part of her statement, KC reassured that one day, they will overcome whatever personal challenges they're going through right now.

"Family is family," she said.

"Don't worry, naniniwala naman po ako na we have enough love to overcome this. I have faith na somehow God will bring us all to a happy place, one day," she ended.

In June 2022, KC took to social media to express her happiness about making amends with her mother, Sharon Cuneta.

Last month, KC reacted to Sharon and her father Gabby Concepcion's reunion concert.

"Kung excited kayo, eh di lalo naman ako!" KC said. "Sobrang happy ko to be back in Manila for this very special reunion concert!"

Sharon and Gabby's "Dear Heart" concert is set for October 27 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
