KC Concepcion says she has Sharon Cuneta's blessing in showbiz comeback

KC Concepcion has her mother Sharon Cuneta's blessing in her decision to return to showbiz.

In Tuesday's episode of "Updated with Nelson Canlas," the 38-year-old actress spoke about her first international film "Asian Persuasion."

“Masaya naman ako talaga na may blessing ng mommy ko,” KC said.

"She's always wanted me to do something internationally, and I hope that this makes her happy, and I hope that she really sees my hard work," she added.

KC said she worked hard to finish her studies so she wouldn't disappoint her parents when she returned to work in showbiz.

“Nagtapos ako ng college kahit nagtatrabaho na ako dito, talagang pinursue ko 'yung studies ko kasi ayokong madismaya 'yung mom ko,” she said.

“Everything she told me to do, I did naman, so happy ako, iba talaga 'yung feeling kapag may blessing ng mommy,” she added.

Two Filipino films, "Asian Persuasion" and "Blue Room," are set to join the Soho International Film Festival lineup in New York from September 14 until 21.

"Asian Persuasion" tells the story of a divorced man who pulls a scheme to marry off his ex-wife to avoid paying alimony. It's a convoluted plot, but it gets even more complicated when he realizes he wants a second chance.

Aside from KC, other Filipinos in the cast include Dante Basco, Paolo Montalban, Tony Labrusca, and Yam Concepcion. —Hermes Tunac/JCB, GMA Integrated News
