Chynna Ortaleza, Kean Cipriano recall highlights of their love story
Like most couples, Chynna Ortaleza and Kean Cipriano’s love story didn’t start out smoothly.
On Wednesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the couple was asked what they thought the highlight of their love story was.
“For me, the one that sticks out is yung pag-reconnect namin after namin triny i-kill yung spark,” Chynna said. “It wasn’t the right time, Tito Boy. He was in a relationship then and I was a wreck.”
[For me, the one that sticks out is when we reconnected. We tried to kill the spark. It wasn't the right time. He was in a relationship and I was a wreck.]
“Kasi parang feeling namin, hindi siya yung tamang oras,” Kean followed.
According to Chynna, their chemistry was really off the charts. "Grabe kami mag-usap. As in ngayon lang ako nakakita ng tao na kahit anong pag-usapan namin, sobra akong masaya, pero kinailangan naming itigil yon dahil alam naming hindi tamang panahon,” she continued.
Kean added, “Nakakatakot siya, Tito Boy, ['yung] pakiramdam na yon, 'yung parang una kaming nagkasama ni Chynna parang masyado siyang malakas.”
[It was frightening. The first time we got together, the feeling was really strong.]
“Literal na sabi ko, natakot ako,” Kean admitted. “So parang nung nag-reconnect kami after nung panahon na yon, dun na yon.”
The couple eventually found their way back. In 2014, Kean and Chynna met again at the premiere night of Chynna’s movie with Nora Aunor, “Dementia.”
According to the couple, they greeted each other with an exchange of "so?"
For Kean, meanwhile, a definite highlight was when they finally decided to be together.
“Pero ako, Tito Boy, yung isang highlight, nung talagang nag-decide na kami na maging kami. Dahil may feeling ako noon na eto na yun eh, ang dami ko pang paligoy-ligoy,” he said. “Parang nung na-feel ko yun, parang ‘ah, eto na yun, tapos na ako. Dito na ako.’”
[For me, Tito Boy, a highlight would be when we decided to be together. I had a feeling this was it. I was beating around the bush for a long time but when I finally felt it, I knew, this was it. I'm done. I'll be with Chynna.]
They shared how they went to a church near the house of Kean’s grandmother, and Kean asking Chynna, “How would you feel kapag naging tayo?”
Chynna replied, pointing to the church and saying, “tanungin mo S’ya. I referred to God because sabi ko nga sa kanya, ‘D’yan tayo magko-commit,’” Chynna said.
Kean and Chynna tied the knot in a civil wedding in 2015 and had their church ceremony in 2017.
They have two kids, Stellar and Salem.
