Jomari Yllana on reconnecting with Abby Viduya after 30 years: 'Naisip ko lang, kumusta siya'

Jomari Yllana and Abby Viduya are living testaments that first love never dies.

On Friday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the couple looked back on how they got reconnected after being apart for 30 years.

“Ano lang, naisip ko lang siya. Naisip ko lang siya talaga, kumusta siya. Then, 'yun lang, socials. And then I saw her,” Jomari recalled.

He had messaged Abby on Facebook. At the time, she was residing in Canada.

“Yeah, I saw her. Sabi ko, ‘Siya ba to? Siya ba to?’” Jomari continued. “Minessage ko. Anong sabi ko? ‘Hi, Kumusta?’ And then she called me up right away.”

Abby said, “Yeah, I called to make sure it was him. And I’m like, ‘Hi! Ikaw ba yan?’"
After that they kept talking as "really good friends."

Jomari and Abby first met in 1992 while they were working on the movie “Guwapings: The First Adventure.”

Soon enough, they got into a relationship. However, this did not last long.
“Naging kami pero career. Career eh,” Jomari said.

Thirty years later, they are back together. After reconnecting in 2015, they rekindled their romance in 2019.

Jomari also revealed that he was the one who told Abby to return to the Philippines.

When Tito Boy asked Jomari if he asked Abby if they could be together again, he responded, “No. I said, ‘Come home.’”

“You know why? Because she said na, ‘I will never come back to the Philippines,’” he added.

In her defense, Abby said, “I had my life there. Sabi ko, ‘Why am I gonna go back here when there’s nothing for me to go back to?’ Like my family is all there, right? So I said, this was probably like in 2015, I said, ‘I’m not gonna go back there.’”

And when the moment came that Abby finally returned to the country, the two were overwhelmed with their emotions.

“Nakakaiyak kasi parang I saw the same person. She looked exactly the same, very very slim. And it was ‘Guwapings,’ walang nagbago!” Jomari said.

He added, “She saw me, nanginginig to, Boy, nanginginig yung buong katawan nito. Nanginginig yung baba nya. Sabi ko, ‘Are you okay?’ Pag yakap nang ganyan, nanginginig siya.”

Aby admitted that she was "so scared" and "nervous of what I did."

"I came back home, I’m gonna be with him,” she said. “Pag-uwi ko dito, diretso kami live-in eh.”

Jomari and Abby have bared plans to wed twice, a civil wedding at the end of this year, and a church wedding next year. —Carby Basina/JCB, GMA Integrated News
