Saab Magalona reflects on love after canceling travel plans while in immigration line because son Vito is sick

Saab Magalona and husband Jim Bacarro were already in line at immigration, ready to fly out to Hong Kong to see their favorite band, The Strokes, when they received a text from home, telling them their second son Vito was sick.

Quickly, the married couple decided to cancel their travel plans last-minute to rush home to their sick boy.

The whole experience had the mother of two reflecting on love and what it means, and on Instagram, she shared her surprisingly touching thoughts.

"Love is planning a quick romantic getaway to watch your favorite band in a foreign country," Saab began.

"Love is checking in your bags, being in line at immigration, just to cancel the whole thing because of a text from home.

"Love is returning to your kid with a fever and rash, nursing him back to health and thanking your stars that you weren’t on the plane yet," she continued.

Making a promise that "we’ll have our romantic getaway another time," Saab revealed the whole ordeal only made her love Jim more.

"Still, I’ve fallen deeper in love with my husband because of this," she wrote as she updated her followers that her bunso is doing a lot better.

In another post, Saab shared a collated video of Vito adorably singing The Strokes' hit "Someday."

"Since Jim and I were supposed to be watching The Strokes right now (see previous post), here’s something even better! We’ll see you SOMEDAY, The Strokes… get it?" She wrote tagging the American band.

Saab and Jim tied the knot in 2015. They have two sons, Pancho, with whom Saab experienced a very difficult birth that saw the family lose his twin sister, and Vito, whom Saab believes is their rainbow child.

Thank you Saab for showing us how difficult and stressful situations can be turned into opportunities to demonstrate love and care. Now, that's mindful living.
