Sharon Cuneta says Alden Richards is 'truly like my own son'
Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards are starring in an upcoming film titled “A Mother and Son’s Story,” and their off-screen bond is very much similar to that.
On Instagram, the Megastar shared one of Alden’s interviews from 2019, where he said that he hopes to work with Sharon one day and she'll play his mother. It was Sharon’s first time seeing the interview.
Sharon said in her caption that it has been a long time since she did a “straightforward, funny and touching and just all-around feel-good” movie, and “it has been some time since I last ‘fell in love’ with a co-star in a movie.”
The actress said that she was surprised that she and Asia’s Multimedia Star share the same interests.
“[Alden] and I talked lengthily for the first time only when we did workshops for this new project, and were both amazed at how much we had in common that I might as well have given birth to him!” she said.
Sharon added, “In our scenes together, it is so very easy to call up emotions because he truly is like my own son ... We are now so bonded, and my three younger children now have a Kuya!”
She said that she is so thankful to God for this new bond with the Kapuso superstar.
“God never fails to surprise me—this year He out of the blue brought me and Alden together and I cannot be more thankful,” she said. “I love Alden so truly and sincerely and still cannot believe how very similar we are!”
Sharon also gave an update that the movie might be released in December. Taping has already started.
Miles Ocampo, Tonton Gutierrez, and Sharon’s longtime friend Jackie Lou Blanco are part of the cast.
Meanwhile, Alden has wrapped up filming “Five Break-ups and a Romance” alongside Julia Montes. He recently starred in “Start-Up PH.”
