Drew Arellano shares lessons he picked up from his dad and hopes to impart to his kids
Drew Arellano is definitely a loving dad to his four kids, thanks to lessons he also learned from his father.
In an interview on “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel,” the host talked more about what he picked up from his dad that he wants to bring into his relationship with his children.
Firstly, it’s providing comfort in troubled times.
“I was a teenager this time and really having the worst day and my dad goes, ‘Okay, then you'll have better days,’” he said.
He added, “Sometimes, you just need someone to tell you that line. Sometimes kasi you’re just like, in a rot, like feeling so down and you think that [the world’s] gonna end and everything. You need someone [to] look up to that calmly.”
Aside from that, the “Biyahe ni Drew” host aims to have a bubbly, light, and funny household.
Drew even called his eldest child Primo “a joker now,” because he enjoys puns. “I love it,” he said.
“It should be light and bubbly and happy and fun, and feeling ko yun din yung nakuha ko from my dad, and hopefully yun din ang nakukuha ng kids ko from me,” he added. “It's not naman like sweeping things under the rug [but] it is really part of our culture here which I grew up in."
