Ricci Rivero confirms breakup with Andrea Brillantes

Ricci Rivero and Andrea Brillantes have broken up.

On Twitter Thursday, the basketball player issued a statement asking their fans and followers to "please respect our decision to keep it to ourselves so that we can preserve what's left of our friendship."

"I am sorry for whatever disappoinment it may have caused you — for everyone’s peace of mind, please allow ourselves to heal and move on peacefully without hate and pain," he added.

In his tweet, Ricci owned up "to the mistake of not making my relationship status public because I felt there’s no need to add up to what were going through."

He also hoped people would "stop creating [their] own versions and dragging other characters into these false accusations."

Ricci didn't name names but he publicly asked the actress to be his girlfriend during a basketball game in April 2022. Both of them have since been posting content of each other on social media.

As of writing, Ricci's tweet has been viewed 2.6M times and retweeted nearly 530 times.

Meanwhile, Andrea has yet to issue a statement.
