Paolo Contis on why he fell in love with Yen Santos: 'She stayed'

Paolo Contis said he fell in love with Yen Santos simply because she chose to stay with him.

In the latest episode of “Updated with Nelson Canlas,” the Kapuso actor said there was a time when Yen had the opportunity to leave him, but she didn’t.

“When the whole crucifixion started, she had every opportunity to leave [me], but she stayed,” Paolo said.

“Ang laki-laking bagay kasi nung mga time na 'you, pinag-uusapan namin 'yun na mahirap, yes, nagkaroon pa nga ng time na nag social media hiatus [siya],” he added.

Despite all the issues in 2021, when Yen was rumored to be a third party in Paolo and LJ Reyes’ breakup, the actor said they both did everything they could not to get affected by all the noise.

“She did everything she [could] to not get affected as long as kumbaga nakakapag-usap kami and okay kami,” Paolo said.

Regarding Paolo and Yen’s new relationship, the actor said they’re heavily focused on their privacy and not minding other people’s opinions.

“It takes love and security para hindi ka rin maapektuhan sa ganun,” he said.

“Ang importante kung ano 'yung meron kami para hindi kami maapektuhan sa iba,” he added.

In October 2021, LJ confirmed her separation from Paolo.

Shortly after, Paolo and Yen were rumored to be together after they were spotted in Baguio.
