Why do Allen Ansay and Sofia Pablo call each other 'Aki'?

Did you know that Allen Ansay and Sofia Pablo call each other "Aki"?

And there's a super cute reason behind it, too.

In an interview on "Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel," Allen addressed Sofia using the nickname, prompting a round of questioning.

"Bakit Aki? Akin, ganun?" host Pia Arcangel asked. "'Yun 'yung interpretation ko, sorry."

But then Sofia said, "Opo, tama po."

Pia then confirmed, "Aki, short for Akin? Wow so hindi nga lang friendship 'yan."

Asked what Sofia calls Allen, she revealed that it's also "Aki."

Allen shared that they used to call each other "AlFia," a combination of their names. Eventually, with the help of their fans, they came up with "Team Jolly," the name of their love team.

With their natural chemistry, Team Jolly got their big break when they were cast as the lead roles in GMA Primetime series "Luv is: Caught in His Arms," an adaptation of a popular Wattpad novel.

They also paired up in "Regal Studio Presents: My Last Love" and attended the GMA Gala Night together.

Currently, Sofia and Allen star in the GMA Public Affairs digital series "In My Dreams." —JCB, GMA Integrated News
