Eugene Domingo opens up on her love story with husband Danilo Bottoni

Eugene Domingo has found love with husband Danilo Bottoni, but how did their love story begin?

On "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" on Wednesday, the notoriously private comedian opened up about how they first met.

Eugene said she encountered Danilo at the Udine Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy where Eugene's film, "Barber's Tales," was being shown.

At that point in her life, Eugene said, "I was alone. I was exhausted in general, in life. I was already surrendering a life of, like, you know, being single, or maybe I could enter the convent, 'yun 'yung iniisip ko."

"Then, all of a sudden, he appeared in front of me, and I was scared because baka, you know, baka stalker or something," she said.

Upon meeting her, Danilo told Eugene that he was a friend on Facebook

"I had no Facebook so sabi ko, 'Parang pick-up line,'" said Eugene.

"'Yun pala he was a film critic, and he watched all Filipino films. He's a lover of Asian films," she said.

Danilo watched Eugene's films like "Kimmy Dora" and "Ang Babae sa Septic Tank," so he asked Eugene for an interview. She told him that he should ask for permission.

"Pa-ano pa ako 'di ba? Kasi wala na dun 'yung isip ko. Okay na ako maging single," Eugene said.

When Danilo interviewed her at the film festival, Eugene said, "Nagandahan ako sa mata niya. Tapos nakita ko na ang guwapo niya na parang nagising ako. Namulat ako, ganyan."

She said that she wanted to be his friend or talk to him for a long time, but someone on the PR team ushered him out of the interview.

When Eugene went back to the Philippines, she said, "'Yun na 'yun e. Papalampasin ko ba? E naramdaman ko na."

Eugene then wrote to Danilo's editor and introduced herself as an actress from the Philippines and said that she just wanted to thank the writer who interviewed her.

"At doon, sumagot na siya sa email and 'yun na nga," she said.

She also said that she can turn her back on her career for love.

Of her life now, she said, "I have given the first half to, you know, always just about me and helping my family. And the second part would be for me and Danilo."

Eugene is set to appear on "All-Out Sundays" for a new eight-episode comedy skit called, "My Ninang Fairy." "All-Out Sundays" airs every Sunday at noon on GMA Network.
