Aubrey Miles on Troy Montero: 'Start ng relationship pa lang, alam na daw niya, ako na'

On "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Friday, Aubrey Miles said her husband Troy Montero knew she was The One from the beginning of their relationship.

"Start [of our relationship pa lang], alam na daw niya, ako na. At na feel ko yon," she said. 

But it took them 18 long years before actually tying the knot because Aubrey didn't really believe in marriage.

"Alam ko may forever, but not in papers. Before ganun ako," she explained.

When they hit a decade together, Aubrey challenged the idea further: "Why get married pa kung alam kong, it's you? Kung sa puso ko, sa spirit ko, ikaw na talaga."  

While Troy understood her, he also explained the complexities of their arrangement. "Sabi niya, 'it's up to you but our kids, anong insipid ng family mo."

So they planned for a wedding. 

"May schedule na, may place na. Tapos nag-pandemic. Sabi ko, 'meant to be ba talaga ito?'" Aubrey narrated. 

While that seemed like a bad turn of events, the pandemic actually Aubrey time to open up to the idea of marriage.

"After the pandemic, na-feel ko nag-open yung heart ko. Nag-open yung mind ko. Wala namang masama kung may papers. I didn't change — nag-open up lang ako."

Aubrey clarifies she wasn't afraid of the commitment. "Hindi ko lang ma-gets," she says.

Aubrey and Troy tied the knot in June 2022.
