Lotlot de Leon reunites with biological father, shares journey to finding him

Lotlot de Leon, the adopted daughter of showbiz icons Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon, has reunited with her biological father, in her birthplace of Olongapo.

On Instagram, she shared the moving story behind it.

According to the actress, she already knew she was adopted because of the people around her parents. However, one day, Nora sat down with her and explained.

“She said the difference between me and Ian was that my brother came from her stomach, I was a gift from above. (Mom pointing at Mama Mary the statue.) ” Lotlot said.

She cried for hours after, Lotlot narrated. “Not because I didn’t know who my real parents were but because I wanted to be like Ian too, na galing din sa stomach [niya] because I love my mom so much gusto ko totoong anak din nila ako ni dad.   ”

Despite learning about her adoption, Lotlot never felt any hate towards her biological parents. She was just curious about them and their stories.

“And [to be honest], I prayed to meet them one day. Gusto ko din sila makilala,” she added.

At the Olongapo Municipal Hall years later, “out of luck or destiny,” a passerby told Lotlot, “[Lot,] nung baby ka, sa amin ka nakatira.”

Without expectations, she asked if they knew anything about her biological dad.

“I was able to speak to someone who accommodated me and since alam ko na name ng father ko, I gave the details of the information I had. Few days after that, I was sent his full name, the name of his wife and daughter.. my ate!” Lotlot said.

She searched online and got an email address. Lotlot wrote to him, “Hi Mr. Olson, my name is Lot de Leon, my biological [mom's] name is Eva Rodriguez.. are you my father?”

“In my head that time, try lang naman. Kung hindi nya ako sagutin, okay lang. Hindi ko na nilagay sa isip ko that he would,” she said.

But then she got a reply: “Yes, I know who you are. I’ve always known about you. I carried you in my arms when you were born.”

Lotlot said, “My jaw dropped [and] the rest is history. "

On Instagram, Lotlot shared a photo with her dad in Olongapo and said she is “grateful in many ways.”

“Each of us have a story. Marami din tayong plano sa buhay. Pero ang plano pa din ni Papa God ang mangingibabaw,” the actress said.

“Forgiveness, humility and prayers [go] a long way. If not for the decisions they made, the time they made it, I wouldn’t have the people I love most in my life too now,” Lotlot added.

“Looking at the glass half full with gratitude. Always.”

In an Instagram Reel, Lotlot shared some moments of her and her family spending time with her father.

Lotlot is one of the cast members of “The Write One,” which airs at 9:35 PM on GMA Primetime, and 11:25 p.m. on GTV. Advanced episodes drop on Viu from Saturdays to Tuesdays.
