Parokya Ni Edgar's Gab Chee Kee now able to walk on his own, to be discharged soon

Parokya Ni Edgar’s Gab Chee Kee has been showing steady signs of progress.

The OPM band posted a video on their Facebook page of the guitarist practicing walking.

“Dahil sa patuloy na tulong, dasal, at good vibes galing sa inyo, medyo mayabang siya ngayon dahil nakakalakad na siya on his own!” they said in their caption.

They added that Gab will be released from the hospital soon.

“Good news din dahil medyo malapit na raw siya makalabas ng hospital para ituloy ang pagpapalakas niya sa kanilang bahay!” they said. “Excited na rin kami makasama si Gab sa mga gigs, pero kailangan niya muna talunin ang cancer monster! Go Gab!!! Kayang-kaya yan!!!”

Meanwhile, in the same post, the band said that the polo Francis M wore in the “Bagsakan” music video has already been auctioned, and that the buyer decided to remain anonymous.

The final price of the polo was not revealed, but a previous Facebook post said that the highest bid was at P620,000.

Parokya also thanked the Magalona family for donating the polo.

Last January, vocalist Chito Miranda revealed that Gab was hospitalized due to pneumonia, a complication brought on by his lymphoma.

Their friends in the industry have helped raise funds, including an Eraserheads-signed guitar that sold for P1.3 million.

A fundraising gig titled Resbak Para Kay Gab, featuring top OPM artists, was held on March 4.

Gab has recently been transferred to a regular room after spending weeks in intensive care and progressive care.
