Celeste Cortesi feels lucky to have supportive boyfriend Mathew Custodio

Celeste Cortesi said that she's lucky to have a supportive boyfriend, Filipino-British football athlete Mathew Custodio.

On Thursday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the King of Talk quizzed the beauty queen on her relationship, musing on the post-pageant breakups that happened in the past.

"May nagsasabi na napakatoxic, napakamalas daw ng pageantry. I can name so many names, actually, common friends of ours na ang mga relasyon nila 'di nag-work pagkatapos ng pageants, pagkatapos manalo o mag runner-up, pagkatapos sumali ng mga contests," Tito Boy said.

Celeste said that's not the case with her and her boyfriend.

"He understands what I need. He understands what's really important to me, and I don't find it toxic at all, like I feel like I was just very lucky to find a guy that was as supportive as him," she said.

The Fil-Italian beauty said she and Mathew give each other space and understanding in their relationship.

"He knew Miss Universe was very important to me so he was really there, and especially when, you know, I did not get into the Top 16. He was beside me the whole time with my mother, with my friends, so sobrang grateful ako," she said.

Celeste said Mathew is always beside her to support her. They also fight just like any other couple, but she said they know their boundaries.

"We always talk about it. I think that communication is very important in our relationship, and that's what we have, and that's why we lasted for so long," she said.

When Tito Boy asked if someone is the jealous type in their relationship.

"Konti lang," Celeste said.

"He would say no, but I know the truth," she added, laughing. "I am too. It's normal, especially when you really care about someone, but as long as there are boundaries, and we assure each other, we communicate, we will be able to overcome everything."
