Joey Marquez says being a true man means doing what is right, not hurting a woman
Joey Marquez said being a true man means not hurting a woman.
In an episode of "Share Ko Lang," Joey said he realized this late in his 30s, and it took him a lot of experiences to have this mindset.
"Ang pagiging tunay na lalaki ay hindi marami kang babae. It was too late for me to realize that. Now, I realize na ang tunay na lalaki pala 'yung tinatanggap kung ano ang dapat para 'di makasakit ng babae," he said.
Joey said this comes after he himself also became "naughty" with relationships when he was younger.
"Alam mo naman ang lalaki. 'Pag bata, gusto parating available, gusto parating napapansin," he said. "Sometimes, 'di mo naman gustong lokohin. Parang ang lalaki kasi, may tendency na just to prove themselves na 'ma-appeal pa ako,' not necessarily being unfaithful."
"Tapos na realize ko na 'Oo nga 'no, nasasaktan din ang babae, mali ako.' Kaya lahat ng nangyayari sa akin ina-attribute ko na lang na mas madali na ako na lang ang may kasalanan kasi mas madali para sa akin ang magpakumbaba para sa kanya."
Joey is currently with his non-showbiz girlfriend Malu Quintana, who made him say in an interview once that "it's nice to love."
Among Joey's exes include Alicia Mayer, Kris Aquino, and Alma Moreno.
