Pokwang hoped to get back with Lee O'Brian for daughter Malia's sake

Pokwang tearfully admitted that she had hoped to get back with ex-partner Lee O'Brian for the sake of their daughter Malia.

On Friday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the Kapuso comedienne said she wanted to fix their relationship even though she was hurting so much.

Pokwang said that while she was the one who asked Lee to leave, she did not want Malia to suffer a broken family.

"Oo naghiwalay kami pero marami akong binigay na chance," she said. "Marami akong binigay na mga signal sa kanya na, 'Please ayusin mo naman 'to para kay Malia.'"

The couple broke up in 2021, but Pokwang defended Lee from speculations surrounding their split. She said they separated amicably, there was no third party, and they did not fight over money.

In her interview with Tito Boy, however, Pokwang spilled the real details about their separation and admitted that she lied in her previous statements in the hopes of getting back together.

"Sa totoo lang mahal ko siya kaya ko nga nagawang magsinungaling eh, pagtakpan ko siya dahil umaasa ako na magkakabalikan pa kami, maayos pa 'to," she said.

Pokwang said she also defended Lee from her family and friends who did not approve of him.

Malia was also asking her about her father, so the comedienne kept the door open for a reconciliation.

"The more na nagtanong sa akin 'yung bata, the more na nagbibigay ako sa kanya ng sign," she said.

"Ito kami ng anak mo, handa akong magsinungaling, handa akong lunukin lahat, buuin mo lang kami, mabuo lang tayo ulit," she said.

Pokwang could not help but break down in tears as she opened up on her feelings about their separation.

"Kung alam n'yo lang gabi-gabi kong pinagdadasal, 'Babalik ka, babalik ka, aayusin mo 'to,'" she said.

Now, however, Pokwang said she thinks getting back together is no longer possible.

"Talagang mahal ko siya kaya lang sa mga lately na paghaharap natin, parang nakita ko na OK, wala na."
