Senators poke fun at Chiz Escudero's love life: 'We heart Chiz'

Senators poked fun at Chiz Escudero's love life during a session on Wednesday.

In the video shown on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Thursday, Sen. Grace Poe started by welcoming Escudero whom she said was all smiles.

"Together with each and every member of this body, I would like to warmly welcome our colleague and my seatmate, Senator Chiz," she said.

"First time in a long time we’ve seen that smile on his face with a wonderful aura and I think if there is anything we learned from this, love is worth fighting for," she added.

To which, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri said he suspended the session to also share his concern.

"I wanted to go down and also give a big hug to my dear friend and classmate in Congress," he said. "We believe in second chances."

Before the video ended, Senator Joel Villanueva was quick to say: "Mr. President, we heart Chiz!"

According to Tito Boy, Villanueva said in their phone call that it was nice to see Escudero that way.

“Nakakatuwa kasi matagal na panahong hindi namin nakikita na hindi nakangiti si Chiz and finally, kahapon daw, talagang iba 'yung ngiti and nung niloloko nila, iba 'yung blush.”

Escudero, meanwhile, jokingly said in the call: "'Pinaglololoko nga nila ako. Wala naman silang alam."

Last year, Chiz and wife Heart Evangelista were the subject of split rumors after the actress admitted dealing with "a lot of personal stuff."

On New Year's Eve, however, Heart posted a photo of them together with Chiz's children.

They have since been sharing photos of their bond on Instagram. Just recently, Heart went with Chiz and his kids to Japan.

February is a happy month for the couple. Apart from Heart's birthday on the 14th, they will also be marking their eighth wedding anniversary.
